I knew I needed to budget. I knew I needed to save at least 3 months income for emergencies. But I could never get there, something always came up with kids or house or… I had just given up on ever really being in control of my money instead of my money being in control of me. Paul was patient as he explained the baby steps, and saving $1000 seemed doable and then snowballing to pay off a couple of credit cards gave me the confidence I needed to make some real changes. Fast forward to today when I bucket my paycheck into different accounts before I ever see the money, ensuring I have what I need to pay for insurance every six months and easily pay other bills. I no longer feel guilty spending money on what I really want as long as it fits the big picture. And I can’t tell you how good it all feels compared to a few years ago.
